Barbara (Williams) Fisher

Mrs. Barbara Williams Fisher, 78, wife of Lance Godwin Fisher, Sr. and a resident of Oak Hall, VA, passed away on Tuesday, March 28, 2017, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, MD.

Born May 10, 1938 in Deep Creek, VA, she was a daughter of the late William Louis “Lou” Williams and Ruth Bruce Williams.  Barbara was graduated from Onancock High School, Class of 1956; worked for C&P Telephone Company; and was Vice-President and Treasurer of Captain Fisher’s Seafood Company.  She was a member of Downing’s United Methodist Church in Oak Hall, and greatly enjoyed reading her Bible.

In addition to her husband, survivors include two sons, Lance G. “Lanny” Fisher, Jr. and his wife Paula, of Salisbury, and Charles S. “Chuck” Fisher and his wife Kim, of Oak Hall; six grandchildren, Cole, Lance G. III, Trey, Laura, Megan and Caroline Fisher; two brothers, David Williams and his wife Cheryl, of Willis Wharf, VA, and Ronnie Williams of Bloxom, VA; and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, Barbara was predeceased by a sister, Mary Elizabeth Pryor; and a brother, Archie Williams.

A memorial service to celebrate Barbara’s life will be held at Downings United Methodist Church in Oak Hall, VA, on Sunday, April 9, 2017 at 2:00 p.m., with Pastor Freddie Ward officiating.
