Mrs. Barbara Lou Walker, 78, wife of the late Manuel Franklin Walker and resident of Onancock, VA, formerly of Maryland, passed away Friday, July 22, 2016 surrounded by her loving family.
Born April 16, 1938 in Jefferson, OH, she was a daughter of the late Clyde Music and Hazel Catherine Topping Music Johnson. Barbara grew up in Maryland, eventually settling in Virginia with her husband. A caregiver at heart, she worked as a companion for the elderly and loved caring for her family. She enjoyed the simple things in life, spending her time gardening, reading her bible, and never missed her afternoon ‘stories’.
Survivors include her loving daughter, Wanda Lou Walker of Onancock; two sisters, Frieda Prothe of Seaford, DE, and Mary Murphy of Denton, MD; granddaughter, Crystal Lynn Hayes of Onancock; four nieces; and five nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Clyde Richard Music.
