Mr. Barry Charles Kranich, 72, husband of the late Jean Marie Kranich, and a resident of Onancock, VA, passed away Saturday, February 03, 2018, with his loving children by his side.
Born July 5, 1945 in Easton, PA, he was the only child of the late Russell Kranich and Ruth Hockman Kranich. Following high school, Barry married his high school sweetheart, and together he and Jean made countless memories throughout their fifty years of marriage.
He attended Butler University until joining the United States Marines to serve his country during the Vietnam War, and later began working for Met-Ed Power Company as a lineman, and after many years, retired as control room operator. In 1992, he and Jean began visiting the Eastern Shore, becoming full time residents in January of 2005. They were dedicated members of Market Street United Methodist Church and the Kiwanis Club of Accomack. In addition, Barry was a part-time driver for Star-Transit, a member of the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) and the Melfa Flying Club, and enjoyed sport shooting. A friend to all, Barry’s presence will be greatly missed by all who had the honor to know him.
Barry is survived by his two children, Jennifer Avery and husband Steve of South Williamsport, PA, and Brooks Kranich and wife Rebecka of Easton; and four grandchildren, Nathan Lord, Olivia Avery, and Charlie and Ben Kranich.
