Betty Taylor Annis

Mrs. Betty Taylor Annis, 72, beloved wife of Norman W. Annis, Jr., and lifelong resident of Parksley, VA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 27, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. 

Born January 5, 1946 in Newport News, VA, she was the daughter of the late Upshur F. Taylor and Viola Lewis Taylor.  Betty was a graduate of Parksley High School and retired from Tyson Foods, Inc., where she worked in the accounting department for many years.  She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, was an avid reader, and loved to travel, having visited 44 of the United States, Nova Scotia, St. John, New Brunswick, Cayman Islands, and splashed in the Pacific Ocean. Betty’s  greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, and they will forever cherish the many memories shared over the years. 

In addition to her husband of fifty-four years, she is survived by her daughter, Lisa L. Corbin (Kevin) of Guilford, VA; grandchildren, Ashley M. Kanipe (Jason) of Christiana, TN, and Alex K. Corbin (Nasrean) of Guilford; great-grandchildren, Alexis and Kyleigh Corbin, and Garrett and Sydney Kanipe; sisters-in-law, Faye Annis of Bloxom, VA, and Bonnie Moore (Truman) of Callands, VA.; niece, Chris Moore; nephews; Michael Annis, T.R. Moore (Lisa), Travis Bundick (Kathryn); and her precious cats, Hunter and Rusty, whom she adored.

A celebration of Betty’s life will be held at the Veterans of Foreign War Post 2296, 21503 Daugherty Road, Tasley, VA 23441, on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Betty’s memory to the S.P.C.A., P. O. Box 164, Onley, VA. 23418, or to an animal rescue organization of one’s choice.
