Upon returning to the Eastern Shore, he enjoyed active memberships in the Onancock Rotary Club, the Eastern Shore Yacht and Country Club, and served on the Boards of Eastern Shore Rural Health and the Eastern Shore Community College. Bill was a loyal Virginia Tech Hokie and member of their Century Club, and a devoted member of the Drummondtown United Methodist Church in Accomac.

In addition to his wife of 59 years, he is survived by a daughter, Katy C. Worrilow, and her husband Charles C. Worrilow, of Fogelsville, Pa.; a son, William Nock Colonna III, and his wife Melinda S. Colonna, of Kingsville, Md.; a sister, Mary Augusta Robertson, and her husband John M.
