Mrs. Carolyn Ruth Fried, 72, wife of David Charles Fried, and a resident of Bloxom, VA, passed away Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital in Onancock, VA.
Born November 8, 1945 in Bloomfield, NJ, she was a daughter of the late Marple M. Lewis and Carolyn M. Lewis. Carolyn worked and lived in New Jersey until the late 90’s when she met David, the love of her life, and relocated the Eastern Shore. She was a member of Parksley Baptist Church and enjoyed crafts, particularly coloring and needlepoint, and loved to knit hats for newborn babies. Carolyn adored her family, and she especially looked forward to time spent with her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Carolyn is survived by her daughter, Robin Huttner of Bloxom; five grandchildren, Maxwell and Jacen Horne, Rylee and Taylor Huttner, and Krystal Maxwell-Horne; two great-grandchildren; and her beloved dog, “Sir Loin”.
Funeral services will be conducted from the chapel of the Williams-Parksley Funeral Home on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at 3:00 p.m., with The Reverend Mark Layne officiating. There will be a visitation at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., and one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Interment will be held at the Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, in Suffolk, VA, at a later date.
