Mr. Charlie Willis Parks, 80, husband of Sandra Wilson Parks and a resident of Painter, VA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 15, 2017, surrounded by his loving family.

Born November 25, 1936 in Accomack County, VA, he was a son of the late Lola Virginia Parks Bew.  As a young man, Charlie worked with the ferry service in Kiptopeke, VA, aboard the SS Princess Anne, SS Pocahontas and SS Delmarva, and for a short time, with the Cape May-Lewes Ferries.  Charlie was an Eastern Shore waterman at heart, and the Chesapeake Bay called him home to his greatest passion - fishing crab pots in the Pungoteague Creek.  He was a member of Mears Memorial United Methodist Church, where he was very active over the years.  Affectionately known as “Charlie-Boy” to family and friends, there is no doubt he was one of a kind and adored by all, especially by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his loving and devoted wife of thirty-eight years, he is survived by four children, Jerry L. Parks and companion Kim of Middletown, CT, Richard K. Parks and wife Ann Maria of Parksley, VA, George B. Whipple and wife Flora of Greenbackville, VA, and Danette R. Conway of Salisbury, MD; nine grandchildren, Ashley Hopkins of Onancock, VA, Brittney Parks of Pocomoke, MD, Bryan Whipple and wife Eva of Hebron, MD, Megan and Ryan Conway, both of Salisbury, Caree Masard and husband Jason of Monterey, CA, Sydney Parks of Exmore, VA, and Luke and Owen Parks, both of Parksley; and seven great-grandchildren, Gavin, Kaylie, Cameron, Makinley, Maddyn, Autumn, and Lois.  Other than his mother, he was predeceased by his son, C. Willis Parks, Jr., and his brother, Melvin Bew, Jr.

Funeral services will be conducted from the chapel of the Williams-Onancock Funeral Home on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at 2:00 p.m., with The Reverends Richard Woodall and Barbara Parker officiating.  Interment will follow in the Onancock Cemetery.  There will be a visitation at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to Intrepid Hospice, P.O. Box 770, Onley, VA 23418.

Memory tributes may be shared with the family at www.williamsfuneralhomes.com.
