David "Dimps" Bradshaw

Mr. David M. “Dimps” Bradshaw, 55, resident of Onley, Va., passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. 

Born August 6, 1960 on Tangier Island, Va., he was a son of Judy Pruitt Bradshaw of Onley and the late Eugene Dale “Duck” Bradshaw.  Dimps was a lifelong waterman and attended Onley United Methodist Church.  He was raised on Tangier crabbing the waters of the Chesapeake Bay, and there was no place he’d rather be than on a boat.  Dimps will be remembered for his love of the water, and especially for his love and dedication to his family. 

In addition to his mother, survivors include his daughter, Holly Bradshaw and George Vassie of Gainesville, Va., and their children, Jaiden and Maverick Vassie; and his son, Jake Bradshaw and wife Whitney of Willards, Md.; several aunts, uncles, cousins; and extended family members.  Other than his father, he was predeceased by his brother, Eugene “Keith” Bradshaw. 

Funeral services will be conducted from the chapel of the Williams-Onancock Funeral Home on Sunday, April 24, 2016 at 2:00 p.m., with The Reverend Charles W. Parks III officiating.  Interment will follow in the Fairview Lawn Cemetery.  There will be a visitation at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
