Mr. Dickie Parks Doremus, 79, of Onancock, VA, passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2017, at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital in Nassawadox, VA.

Born February 17, 1937 in Belle Haven, VA, Dickie was a son of the late Howard Harris “Curly” Doremus and Helen Parks Doremus.  He was retired from the Engineering Department with Verizon, and part-time farmer.  Dickie was a member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church; served in the Virginia National Guard; was a member and former golfer at the Eastern Shore Yacht & Country Club; and greatly enjoyed farming, fishing, watching Martins at his home, and taking care of and loving his animals.

In addition to his parents, Dickie was predeceased by his longtime companion, Mary Earle Carmine; two sisters, Elizabeth Doremus Nock and Mary Ann Doremus Goodwin; and a brother, Howard H. “Toby” Doremus, Jr.

Survivors include his sister, Peggy Doremus Tilghman of Keller; brother-in-law, Odis Goodwin of Chesapeake, VA; nieces and nephews, Stephanie Johnson (John), Erik Doremus (Marianne), Debbie Nock (Ken), Kelly Pepper (Bill), Jennifer Young (Rick), Howard Goodwin (Martha), and Andy Goodwin, and their families; and his two puppies, Noah and Pungo.

Funeral services will be conducted from the chapel of the Williams-Onancock Funeral Home, Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 12:00 p.m., with The Reverend Curtis Lucy officiating.  There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, and interment will follow the service at Fairview Lawn Cemetery.
