Douglas Reid McCready

Mr. Douglas Reid McCready, 60, husband of Martha Jane McCready and a resident of Parksley, Va., passed away on Monday, June 1, 2015.

A native of Crisfield, Md., Mr. McCready was born November 26, 1954 to the late Ralph Reid McCready and Gladys Melbourne McCready.  He was a member of the Church of God, and worked at Tyson Foods in Temperanceville, Va.  He was a devoted husband and father, and will be missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his wife, survivors include a son, Michael Reid McCready of Painter, Va.; a sister, Karen Wade and her husband Carl, of Cleveland, Tenn.; mother-in-law, Alma Chew of Parksley; one niece; eight nephews; and his beloved dog, “Candy Christmas”.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Angela Bowden.

Funeral services will be conducted from the chapel of the Williams-Parksley Funeral Home on Sunday, June 7, 2015 at 3:00 p.m., with Mr. George Fulk and the Reverend Kenneth Helms officiating.  Interment will follow in the Parksley Cemetery.  There will be a visitation at the funeral home, one hour prior to the service.
