Dear Jeanette and family, I am so sad to hear about Dwayne. We seldom saw each other since childhood due to long distance miles but when we were privileged to connect it was always a wonderful and warm connection of our hearts. He was such a special man and I'm sure you know that better than anyone. Much love and warm hugs to you and your girls. Cousin Linda

Deepest sympathies to the Darnell family. Dwayne will be missed...especially for when he offered a "traveller" to a thirsty fellow crewmate or cooked dinner for the section...just because he enjoyed it. Quite a guy!

Dwayne....always so easy going and took everything in stride! You couldn't upset Dwayne if you wanted to! He was an excellent pilot and EMT for the Park Police. I also remember him as Car 211 many, many years ago! Always the professional in everything he did! Rest in peace, my friend.

I have met Darnell several times through my brother, Paul Johnson, as they were Park Police officers together. I know how very much my brother loved and respected Darnell and they had an easy, companionable relationship together.

Darnell sure had a way with our mother, Irene! Her face lit up when Darnell turned his attention her way! I believe he took our mother up in his helicopter at least once to her delight! If I've heard her talk about it once.....

I will remember his kind, gentle nature and sweet smile. We were all lucky to know him in even the smallest way.

My condolences to the family and all Darnell's friends.

Dwayne was always an "Officer and a Gentleman". The image of Dwayne having his dog by his side and his fishing pole in the other hand is clearly visible to me. I pray that the passage of time will help Jeanette, Summer, and Brooke with healing their broken hearts. We will all surely miss you Brother Dwayne.

Rest In Peace, Charlie McLane

My sincere sympathy to the family and friends of Dwayne. The loss of our dear loved ones can be very difficult and distressing to cope with. True comfort comes in knowing that Jehovah ( Psalm 83 : 18 - God's name ) is not the cause of our pain, suffering and death, Hebrews 2 : 14 tells us the source. May you be comforted in knowing that Jehovah hates death ( 1 Corinthian 15 : 26 ) and promises to eliminate death forever and bring ones sleeping in death back to life on a cleansed earth. ( John 17 : 3; Isaiah 25 : 7,8; Revelation 21 : 3-5; Acts 24 : 15; Psalms 37 : 10,11, 29 ). Also, may your own good and loving memories of Dwayne help to soothe your hearts, as we remember that our dear loved ones now safely rest in the loving memory of our Grand Creator, Jehovah God, waiting for the fulfillment of His promised purpose for us all. Sincerely
