Edward Stewart Grinnalds
January 31, 1931 ~ July 17, 2015 (age 84) 84 Years OldEdward Stewart “Ned” Grinnalds, 84, husband of the late Margaret Glenn Turner Grinnalds, and a resident of Onley, VA, passed away Friday, July 17, 2015 at Riverside Shore Rehabilitation Center.
Born January 31, 1931 in Greenbush, VA, he was a son of the late Southey Custis Grinnalds and Estelle Lewis Grinnalds. In 1948, Ned graduated from Accomac High School and then joined the United States Air Force, serving in the Korean War. He worked for Stiles Pontiac in Tasley, VA, for seventeen years, and retired from VDOT in 1993, after twenty four and a half years. He was a member of Onancock Elks Lodge, B.P.O.E. #1766, Eastern Shore Scottish Rites, Scottish Rite of Freemasonry of Portsmouth, Central Masonic Lodge #300, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 2296, Eastern Shore Shrine Club Khedive Temple AAONMS, Antique Automobile Club of America, and was a charter member of the Accomack-Northampton Region of AACA.
Survivors include two daughters, Stewart Grinnalds Kambarn and husband Charlie of Onancock, VA; and Jackie Lewis Annis and husband David of Onley, a grandson, David Joseph Kasimoff of Hawaii; extended family, Durbin, Sarah, Ella, and Mary Roache of Melfa, VA; a niece, Linda R. Smullin of Nelsonia, VA; and a nephew, Mark D. Rew of Parksley, VA. In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by two sisters; and a brother.
The family would like to extend their appreciation and gratitude to the caregivers at Riverside Shore Rehabilitation Center.
Funeral services will be conducted from the graveside at the Fairview Lawn Cemetery on Sunday, July 19, 2015 at 2:00 p.m., with the Reverend Don Jamison officiating.
