Fay Santiago

Mrs. Fay Santiago, 70, beloved wife of Irving Santiago and a resident of Exmore, VA, passed away Thursday, June 22, 2017, surrounded by her loving family.

Born October 6, 1946 in Puerto Rico, she was a daughter of the late Domingo Suarez and Lydia Torrez Suarez.  Fay worked in the medical field for most of her life, spending the last thirteen years as a medical translator for Eastern Shore Rural Health Systems.  With her heart of gold and willingness to help anyone in need, she touched the lives of many over the years.  Although Fay will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and community, her legacy of unconditional love and compassion for others will forever be remembered.   

In addition to her loving husband of thirty-eight years, she is survived by her mother-in-law, Candida Jimenez; and sister-in-law, Rosa Santiago, both of Puerto Rico; and stepson, Nicholas Santiago and wife Susan of Brooklyn, NY, as well as countless friends whom she loved like family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Saint Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Onley, VA, on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at 11:00 a.m., with Father Rogelio L. Abandano officiating.  Interment will follow in the Fairview Lawn Cemetery.  There will be a visitation at the Williams-Onancock Funeral Home on Monday, June 26, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
