Gene Savage

Mr. Gene Middleton Savage, 66, of Parksley, Va., passed away Monday, April 6, 2015, at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, Va.

Born May 20, 1948, Gene was a son of the late Harvey Woodrow Savage and Virginia Middleton Savage.  He was a graduate of Parksley High School; owned and operated the former Lewis Cleaners in Parksley for many years; and his passion in life was music.  A founding member of The Missing Links band of Parksley, Gene was their vocalist, and played rhythm guitar.  He is remembered for his natural talent.

Survivors include his daughter, Meredyth Savage of Painter, Va.; a niece, Vickie Savage Sams of Onancock, Va., nephew, Drew Savage of Virginia Beach, Va., and their families.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Richard “Dickie” Savage, formerly of Accomac.

A graveside memorial service will be held at the Parksley Cemetery, Sunday, April 12, 2015 at 2:00 p.m., with The Reverend G. Wayne Parsley officiating.
