Mr. Horace Webster Hall, 78, husband of Edna McCullen Hall and a resident of Lee Mont, VA, passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2017 surrounded by his loved ones.

Born September 22, 1939 in Berea, VA and reared in Hartwood, VA, Horace was one of twelve children born to the late William Weber Hall and Margaret Elizabeth Smith Hall.  Horace lived a life full of love, dedication, and accomplishment.  He proudly served his country in the Virginia National Guard for eight years, married the love of his life and had a beautiful family, worked tirelessly to achieve his goals, and retired from the Town of Parksley, where he was maintenance supervisor for fifteen years.  Horace spent much of his time outdoors, enjoying an afternoon of fishing, deer hunting, or gardening, but his greatest pleasure was time spent with family, and his beloved dogs, “Ernie” and “Annie”.  A true patriarch, Horace led by example, and though he will be missed, his memory will be forever celebrated and cherished.

In addition to his loving wife of sixty years, he is survived by four children, Judy Davenport and husband Steve of Homasassa, FL, Jeffery A. Hall and wife Marianne of Melfa, VA, Horace W. “Sonny” Hall, Jr. and wife Monica of Parksley, VA, and Marie Miller and husband Jimmy of Bloxom, VA; four brothers, Ben and wife Shirley of Troy, NC, Robert, Donnie and wife Cindy, and Charles; three sisters, Frances, Hilda, and Ruth, all of Stafford County, VA; eleven grandchildren, Jonathan Kluis and wife Amy of Powhatan, VA, Erin Briggs and husband Tommy of Homasassa, Julie Hall of Parksley, Jeffery A. Hall II of Richmond, VA, Timothy Hall of Melfa, Alan Hall and wife Cassie of Hopeton, VA, Charles Craig and wife Kelly of Clarksville, TN, Horace W. “Trey” Hall III of Bloxom, Chelsea Sawyer and husband Seth of Savannah, GA, Christopher Miller and wife Betsy of Onancock, VA, and Elizabeth Miller of Bloxom; nine great-grandchildren, Justin, Josiah, Conner, Corbin, Mackenzie, Dylan, Bradley, Jacob, and Emelia; and many nieces and nephews.  Other than his parents, he was predeceased by four brothers, Reuben, Adrian, William, and John.

A celebration of Horace’s life will be held at the Parksley Volunteer Fire Company on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 2:00 p.m., with The Reverend William Jefferson officiating.  In the spirit of keeping it casual, the family encourages everyone to come as you are, as Horace would have wanted.
