Mrs. Kathryn Foster Ewell, 66, beloved wife of Gary M. Ewell and a resident of Accomac, VA, passed away at her residence on Saturday, July 22, 2017, and is at home with her Lord.
Born June 12, 1951 in Nokesville, VA, she was the daughter of the late Lou Amos Foster and Inez Gum Foster. Kathy was a Home Economics teacher with Accomack County schools, and Brentsville District High School, in her native Nokesville. She was a member of Baptist Bible Church, where she loved attending with her husband, was a member of the Choir, enjoyed activities, and eagerly anticipated their annual Christmas and Easter programs. Reading her Bible brought great satisfaction and comfort to her.
Kathy loved her friends, animals, and her garden, which Gary and friends planted for her enjoyment this year. A favorite destination was the Pennsylvania Dutch Country, where among other adventures, they liked visiting Shady Maple Smorgasbord. Kathy’s peaceful and joyful demeanor, and overall zest for life, will be missed by many, but remain treasured memories in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to have ever been in her company.
In addition to her loving husband, survivors include her high school and lifelong friend, Karen K. Berry and her husband Charlie “Chuck”, of Bluefield, VA, their children, Kimberly Benson, Patrick, Chris and Rebecca Berry, and their families; her cousins, Claudia Barnish (Rick), Ken Foster (Diane), Philip Foster (Chris), Tommy Foster (Terri), Elaine Yankey (Jim), Philip Spittle (Linda), Susan Polk, Betsy Newton (Larry), Stephen Ross, and Deborah Kenney; and several extended family members.
Funeral services will be conducted from Baptist Bible Church in Accomac, Thursday, July 27, 2017 at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Robert Fletcher officiating. Interment will follow at the Fairview Lawn Cemetery in Onancock. There will be a visitation at the Williams-Parksley Funeral Home in Parksley, VA, Wednesday, July 26, 2017, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.
