Ken Ross Walthall

Mr. Kenneth Ross Walthall, 60, of Parksley, passed away Monday, May 11, 2015.  Born and raised in Petersburg, VA, he was a son of the late Kenneth W. Harris and Susan Janet Walthall.

Ken served his country in the United States Navy, from 1974–1977.  He attended Mt. San Antonio Jr. College, John Tyler Community College, and the University of Virginia, where his focus was mechanical and aerospace design.  In 1998, Ken moved to the Eastern Shore to work as a draftsman for NASA Wallops Flight Facility.  Later, he was promoted to Senior Draftsman for the Orbital Sciences Corporation at Wallops.  Ken received numerous awards from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration.  He took immense pride in his creation of engineering drawings and great pleasure in helping young engineers at work.  He enjoyed hunting, music, astronomy, and studying European History.

Ken leaves behind many dear friends, co-workers, and extended family members on the Eastern Shore of Virginia, who valued his friendship and the many times they spent together throughout the years. 

A celebration of Ken’s life will be held by his friends at the Williams-Parksley Funeral Home on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at 2:00 p.m.
