Leona Morris

Mrs. Leona Ward Morris, 85, wife of the late Rev. Luther Rudolph Morris and a resident of Cashville, VA, passed away on Saturday, November 4, 2017, at Riverside Shore Rehabilitation Center in Parksley, VA.

Born June 15, 1932 in Ahoskie, NC, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd Ward and Oleather Brown Duer.  Mrs. Morris was a very active member of Broadway Baptist Church, and former cafeteria worker at the former Mary Nottingham Smith school.

Survivors include her two children, Joseph Samuel Morris and his wife Pat, and Sheila Morris Thomas and her husband Scott, all of Cashville; two grandchildren, Jenna Thomas O’Connor and her husband Danny, and Jeffrey Thomas and his wife Jordan; and a great-granddaughter, Gwendolyn O’Connor.

Funeral services will be conducted from the chapel of the Williams-Onancock Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at 2:00 p.m., with The Reverend Robert L. Smoot officiating.  Interment will follow in the Mount Holly Cemetery in Onancock.  There will be a visitation at the funeral home, one hour prior to the service.
