Born June 24, 1927 in Bowie, MD, she was the daughter of the late Reese O. Thomas and Martha Virginia McClelland Rhine.  Following her longtime career as an advertising associate with the Washington Post, Louise moved to Wallops Island where she later retired as office manager for a local gas company.  She cherished life on the Eastern Shore, spending her free time enjoying the outdoors with family and friends.  Many fond memories were made sharing a day at the pool, on the beach, fishing, and Louise’s favorite, cruising the shoreline for pelicans.  She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.

Survivors include two sons, Kenneth Wayne Myles and wife Trudy of Cashville, VA, and Norman T. Myles, Jr. and wife Patty of Vinton, VA; four grandchildren, Tracy Myles Colona and husband Mike of Cashville, Travis Myles and wife Kelly of Onancock, Caleb Myles and wife Natalia of Virginia Beach, VA, and Paige Hale and husband Nathan of Vinton; a brother-in-law, Earnest “Mickey” Doughty of Temperanceville, VA; her very dear and special friend, Drue Kern Harmer of Hampton, VA; five great-grandchildren; two nieces; and three nephews.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a half-sister, Beverly Rhine Doughty.

A memorial service will be conducted from the chapel of the Williams-Onancock Funeral Home on Monday, July 20, 2015 at 5:30 p.m., with the Reverend Bob Smoot officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
