            Mrs. Lula Mae Spence, 89, beloved wife of the late Garland W. Spence, and a resident of Riverside Shore Rehabilitation Center, formerly of Southside Chesconnessex, VA, passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2017, with her loving daughter by her side.

            Born January 6, 1928 in Withams, VA, she was a daughter of the late Lorenzo Washington Trader and Ella Ruth Bunting Trader.  Lula worked as a custodian, alongside her husband, at the former Accomack Primary School for many years, and later worked in the kitchen at the Hermitage on the Eastern Shore.  She was a longtime member of Riverview United Methodist Church.  Lula was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and she cherished every moment with those she loved so dearly. 

            Survivors include her daughter, Bonnie Killmon and husband Todd of Onancock, VA; grandson, Denver R. Enoch III and fiancé Francine of Virginia Beach, VA; step-grandchildren, Ariel, Amon, Mckinlee, Maggie, and Mariah Killmon; step-grandson, Liam Chew; and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her siblings, Inez Gladding, Esther Kalman, Elmer Trader, and Edward Lee Trader, Sr.  

            Funeral services will be conducted from the chapel of the Williams-Onancock Funeral Home on Sunday, February 5, 2017 at 2:00 p.m., with The Reverend Andy Cobb officiating.  Interment will follow in the Mount Holly Cemetery.  There will be a visitation at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

            Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Riverview United Methodist Church, 20469 Market Street, Onancock, VA 23417.
