Margaret Drummond Melson

Mrs. Margaret Elizabeth Drummond Melson, 97, wife of the late Walter E. Melson and a resident of Parksley, Va., passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2015.

Born November 21, 1917 in Craddockville, Va., she was a daughter of the late Sallie Parker Drummond and Willie Lee Drummond.  Mrs. Melson retired as a secretary for H.C. Watson Corporation, and was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Parker Drummond.  Mrs. Melson is survived by a daughter, Nancy Melson Young and husband Carroll, and a son, W. Edward Melson, Jr. and wife Carole, all of Parksley; two sisters, Dulcie D. Windsor and Frances D. Greene; and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted from the graveside at the Mount Holly Cemetery, Onancock, Va., on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at 2:00 p.m., with The Reverend Donald A. Jamison officiating.
