Martha was a world traveler, enjoyed entertaining with close friends, and volunteered at election polls for many years. Her love of many types of animals, including both their beauty and companionship, inspired some of her travels to Africa and Costa Rica, as well as having pet dogs throughout her life. She was an avid bridge player, and was skilled at solving crossword puzzles.
Survivors include her two sons, William Wade Walker, and his wife Jayanne, of Miles Wharf, VA, and Thomas Drummond Cropper Walker, and his wife Karen, of Morley’s Wharf, VA; three grandchildren, Ellen Savage Walker, Revel Wade Walker and wife Molly, and Kenneth William Walker; and two great-grandchildren, Kobe Earl Walker and Sayer Wade Walker.
Her funeral service will be held at St. James’ Episcopal Church, on Saturday, March 3, 2018, at 11:00 a.m., with The Reverend Cameron Randle officiating. There will be a private interment at St. George’s Episcopal Church Cemetery, Pungoteague, VA.
