Mrs. Miriam Moorman Vinski, 89, wife of Francis Vinski, Jr. and a resident of Hallwood, VA, formerly of Southampton, NY, passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at Riverside Shore Rehabilitation Center in Parksley, VA.

Born March 9, 1928 in Connecticut, and reared in Danbury, she was the daughter of the late Walter “Sandy” Moorman and Minnie Hamilton Moorman.  Miriam met, and later married, Francis while attending nursing school at Southampton Hospital.  During her sixty-eight years as a registered nurse, she held many positions, including serving as an ER charge nurse, and later as a public health nurse.  Miriam was very passionate about helping others, not only in her career, but also as a longtime trustee of her church, as a fervent member of the Democratic Party Committee, and through volunteering with the Fresh Air Fund, an organization dedicated to bettering the lives of children from low-income communities.  She was a dog lover, and especially enjoyed spending time in the sun.

In addition to her husband of sixty-six years, she is survived by her daughter, Anne Vinski of Hallwood, VA; son, Francis Vinski III and wife Karen of Cordova, MD; brother, Paul Moorman; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.  Other than her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Stephen Vinski; and brother, Walter Moorman.

Funeral services will be private.
