Mrs. Nancy Parks Russell, 88, wife of the late Walter Thomas Russell and resident of Onancock, VA, passed away Sunday, January 17, 2016 at her residence.

Born July 3, 1927, she was a daughter of the late William W. Parks and Jewellyn Thornes Parks.

Nancy was a retired LPN.  Nancy was an avid bridge player, meeting with her friends several times a week until shortly before her passing.  She enjoyed cooking and baking for friends and family; always thinking of someone who may like one of her special treats, the nurse and caregiver was still very much a part of her.

She was a member of the Onancock Baptist Church for more than sixty years.

She is survived by her son, Walter Thomas “Tom” Russell and wife Joann of Onancock; three grandchildren, Patrick Michael Johnson of Philadelphia, PA, Erik Kjell Johnson and wife Min of Cleveland OH, and Walter Thomas “Tommy” Russell III of Blacksburg, VA; great-granddaughter, Ella Rose Johnson of Cleveland; sister-in-law, Reita Russell and her family of Newport News, VA; brother-in-law, David Russell and his family of Cashville, VA; nephew, Curtis Russell; two nieces, Willie Anna Perrella, and Melissa Russell; and five cousins, Jennie Lee Thornes, Dana Bundick, Wanda Smith, and Todd and Terry Thornes.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by two daughters, Martha Russell Eller, and Brenda Russell Johnson; several sisters, including Sadie K. Parks and Ellouise Bloxom Mears; niece, Peggy Bloxom Ward; and brother-in-law, Larry Russell.

Funeral services will be conducted from the chapel of the Williams-Onancock Funeral Home on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at 2:00 p.m., with Pastor Andy Cobb officiating.  Interment will follow in the Mount Holly Cemetery.  There will be a visitation at the funeral home, one hour prior to the service.
