Otto F. Schroker died Monday, July 10, 2016 at his home in Onancock, Virginia.  He was 89.

Born in Franklin Park he lived in Montgomery Township before moving to Virginia 25 years ago.  At the age of 17 he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps serving in World War II and the Korean War.  Upon returning to civilian life he owned and operated his business as a general contractor.  He also owned and operated Seven Continents in Montgomery which imported goods from all over the world.  With the love he had for mankind he devoted his retirement years to providing hospice work.

He was a member of Palestine Lodge #111 F. and A.M. in Princeton, the Loyal Order of the Moose in Somerset, and various other organizations.  He was a deacon in the Belle Haven United Methodist Church in Virginia.

He was predeceased by his wife Zelma (Zeller) Platz Schroker in March.  He was also predeceased by his parents Joseph and Anna (Karpo) Schroker; and two sisters Mathilda Smith and Wilhelmina Weingart.  Surviving are his brother Andrew Schroker of Ottsville, Pennsylvania; his sister Caroline Schultz of Monroe Township; three step daughters – Debora Platz Hooper and her husband Jon of Port St. Joe, Florida, Kathleen Platz of Pagosa Springs, Colorado, Stacy Platz Joyce and her husband Edward, III of Old Hickory, Tennessee; two stepsons – Theodore Platz of Chesterfield, NJ and Donald Platz of New Jersey; seven grandchildren – Kelly Hooper Kingon, David Hooper, Ashley Platz, Grant Platz, Jessie Joyce, Avie Joyce and Teddy Joyce; and four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews including Richard Greaves, Andrew George Schroker, Leroy Raup and Florence Raup.

Visitation will be Friday from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road North Brunswick followed by an 11:00 AM service at the funeral home.  Burial will follow in Rocky Hill Cemetery in Rocky Hill. 

In lieu of flowers contributions may be to The Harlingen Church, 34 Dutchtown-Harlingen Road and Route 206, Belle Mead, NJ 08502, or to The Belle Haven United Methodist Church, 35446 Belle Haven Road, Belle Haven, VA 23306.
