Page Young

Page Hayden Young, 77, wife of A. Thomas "Tom" Young and a resident of Onancock, Va., passed away on Friday, July 28, 2017.

Born May 22, 1940 in Accomac, Va., she was the daughter of the late Garland Paige "Jack" Hayden and Frances Taylor Hayden.  After graduating from Onancock High School, she attended the College of William and Mary, graduating with the class of 1962.

Page was an active member of the Market Street United Methodist Church.  She was Past-President of the United Methodist Women, a member of the Board of Directors of Historic Cokesbury Church and served on the Altar Guild.  She greatly enjoyed teaching Vacation Bible School and Kids Alive.

Gardening was a real passion, and she had a large and beautiful garden at her home on the Eastern Shore.  She was a member of the Garden Club of the Eastern Shore.  Page served as Co-Chair of Historic Garden Week, and on the Executive Committee as Corresponding Secretary.

In addition to her husband, survivors include children, Anne Blair Morrison (Robert K. Morrison III) of Kailua, Hawaii, and Thomas Carter Young of St. Petersburg, Fla.; a sister, Sharon L. Hayden of Onancock (Roger Rosen of Pocono Pines, Pa.); grandchildren, Spencer Thomas Morrison and Peyton Grace Morrison; uncle, George D. Taylor; and several cousins and their families.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Market Street United Methodist Church, 75 Market Street, Onancock, Va., on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at 11 a.m., with the Reverend J. Barton Weakley officiating.  There will be a visitation at the Church one hour prior to the service.  A private burial will be held at the family farm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Market Street United Methodist Church, 75 Market Street, Onancock, Va.  23417, or to a charity of one's choice.
