Ronald Keith Bennett, Sr.

Mr. Ronald Keith Bennett, Sr., 79, husband of the late Mary Francis Bennett and a resident of Onancock VA, passed away Thursday, June 8, 2017 at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

Born October 1, 1937 in Hacksneck, VA, he was a son of the late Glenwood L. Bennett, Sr. and Gladys Chambers Bennett.  Ronald loved playing games of all kinds, especially Texas Hold’em, Horseshoes, Cornhole, and Dice, and nothing brought a bigger smile to his face than the moment he won a game.  Like most Eastern Shore natives, he loved to be on the water casting his fishing line.  Above all else, Ronald adored his family and never missed an opportunity to spend time with them. 

Survivors include his three children, Bobby Bennett and wife Karen of Onancock, Kathy Ross and husband Teddy, Sr. of Eastville, VA and Mickey Bennett and wife Kittie of Exmore, VA; brother, Glenwood L. Bennett, Jr. and wife Maybelle of Onancock; niece, Beverly Bagley and husband Brett of Waldorf, MD; twelve grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; and his special dog, “Taffy”.  In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by a son, Ronald Keith Bennett, Jr. and a daughter, Christine Lee Bennett Ross.

Funeral services will be conducted from the chapel of the Williams-Onancock Funeral Home on Sunday, June 11, 2017 at 2:00 p.m., with The Reverend Jonathan Carpenter officiating.  Interment will follow in the Onancock Cemetery.  There will be a visitation at the funeral home on Saturday, June 10, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
