Rose Lee Parks

Ms. Rose Lee Parks, 69, resident of Tangier Island, VA, passed away Sunday, December 24, 2017 at her home.  Born January 6, 1948 on Tangier Island, Rose was the daughter of Isabelle Lee Thorne Parks of Tangier and the late Owen Ashton Parks, Sr.

Rose graduated from Conrad High School, in Wilmington, DE, and worked for DuPont Company for many years.  Following retirement, she returned home, to Tangier to care for her parents.  She enjoyed cooking, loved animals, and was a talented seamstress. 

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her son, Stephen Parks; brother, Owen Ashton Parks, Jr., and sister-in-law, Marie Parks, all of Tangier; two grandchildren, Jacob and Jessica Parks; four nephews, Jamie, Paul, Carey, and Michael, a niece, Carli; two great-grandchildren; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.  Other than her father, she was predeceased by three brothers, David Wayne, Jeffrey Lynn, and Hugh James Parks. 

A memorial service will be held in the recreational room at the Edward W. McCready Memorial Hospital, 201 Crisfield Hwy., Crisfield, MD, on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at 11:30 a.m.
