Ross Mumford

Mr. Ross Mumford, 46, husband of the late Barbara Ann Badlik Mumford and a resident of Mappsville, VA, passed away at his residence on Monday, September 19, 2016.

Born July 24, 1970 in Salisbury, MD, he was a son of the late Harry J. Mumford and Mary Elizabeth Topping Mumford.  Ross was a longtime truck driver for Linens of the Week and was a vital part of the church family at the Accomack Covenant Church, in Greenbush, VA.  He enjoyed fishing, ‘junking’, and adored his dog ‘Sarah’.  A man of many talents, Ross was always eager to help those in need.  He will be remembered for his gentle heart and unwavering dedication to his church and family.

Survivors include his stepdaughter, Melissaann Sortino Rich and her husband Nicholas, of Wallops Island, VA; two sisters, Janet Kathleen Vasquez-Lopez and her husband Matias, of Parksley, VA, and Nancy Ellen Bunting of Virginia; a brother, James Elmer Mumford of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to his wife and parents, Ross
was predeceased by a son, Zachary Thomas Mumford; and a brother, John Harry J. Mumford.

A memorial service to celebrate Ross’s life will be held at the Accomack Covenant Church, Saturday, September 24, 2016 at 3:00 p.m., with Pastor Sam Welch officiating.
