Sonny Moore

Mr. Charles Daniel “Sonny” Moore, 71, resident of Tasley, Va., passed away Sunday, January 31, 2016, at his home.

Born September 3, 1943 in Onancock, Va., he was a son of the late Daniel Earl Moore and Sarah Kathryn Lake Murray.  Sonny retired as Chief of Security from Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital in Nassawadox, Va. and was a member of the Tasley Volunteer Fire Department and the Accomack-Northampton Antique Car Club.  He had a great passion for antique cars, spending a majority of his time in the garage working on his collection.  Sonny never met a stranger, and there was never a time he didn’t greet you with a smile and a handshake.

Survivors include a sister, Kay Belote and husband Cleve of Chatham, Va.; two brothers, Michael Parker and wife Virgie of Cope, SC, and Patrick Parker of Franklin, Va.; eight nieces; five nephews; and extended family members, Claude and Stella Smith of Williston, SC, and Kenny and Deborah Midgett of Parksley, Va.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Linda Scott Moore Coddington; and a brother, Ervin “Butch” Sayers.

Funeral services will be conducted from the graveside at the Fairview Lawn Cemetery on Thursday, February 4, 2016 at 2:00 p.m., with Mr. George Fulk officiating.
