Steven Lee Smith, 51, husband of Carla R. Smith and a resident of Ocala, FL, formerly of Painter, VA, passed away at his home on Friday, March 2, 2018.
Born December 29, 1966 in Arlington, VA, and reared on the Eastern Shore of Virginia, he was a son of May Lovett of Painter, VA, and the late Robert D. Smith. Steve was a self-employed contractor, and enjoyed woodworking. He never met a stranger, and everyone was his friend. Steve was always so full of life, absolutely loved life, loved his family and his home, and truly lived life to its fullest!
In addition to his wife and mother, survivors include his 11-year-old son, Kevin; his “Pop”, Robert E. Lovett of Painter; sister, Dawn M. Miller, and brother, Gregory A. Smith and his wife Kathy Bundick, all of Parksley, VA; niece, Kaitlynn M. Spence and her husband Joseph, of Newport News, VA; nephew, Brandon L. Smith of Melfa, VA; and his dog, Tucker. Other than his father, he was predeceased by two brothers, Robby Smith, and Ricky A. Lovett.
A funeral service will be conducted from the chapel of the Williams-Onancock Funeral Home, Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 1:00 p.m., with Pastor Rob Kelley officiating. Interment will follow in the Onancock Cemetery. There will be a visitation at the funeral home, one hour prior to the service.
