Sue Pruitt

Mrs. Virginia Sue Pruitt, 66, loving wife of Guy Olsen Pruitt, Sr., and a resident of Onancock, VA, passed away at her residence on Wednesday, May 3, 2017.

Born November 9, 1950 on Tangier Island, VA, Sue was the daughter of the late Willie Bates Landon and Panet Lee “Rickie” Abraham Landon.  She was a member of Broadway Baptist Church, and enjoyed crafts, baking, and crocheting.  Sue possessed an unwavering love for both her Lord and her family throughout her life.  Treasured memories of Sue will be with those she loved for many years, and she will be missed by many.

In addition to her beloved husband, survivors include her two children, Guy O. Pruitt, Jr. and his wife Helen, of Nassawadox, VA, and Denise Pruitt Johnson and her husband Wayne, of Parksley, VA; seven grandchildren, Landon and Olsen Pruitt of Nassawadox, Haley Moore and her husband Justin of Wattsville, VA, and Hannah, Coby, Carly and Caroline, all of Parksley; a great-grandchild, Freya Rowan Moore; a brother, Joshua Landon of Exmore, VA; sister-in-law, Mary Lee Landon of Cape Charles, VA; nine nieces and nephews; and uncles, Stan, Ed and Burke.  In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Richard B. Landon, and other family members.

A memorial service celebrating her life, will be held at the Broadway Baptist Church on Friday, May 12, 2017, at 2:00 p.m., with The Reverend David Boothe officiating.
