William Thomas Roberts III, succumbed to MDS on June 25, 2016, after a long battle.  He joins his parents, William and Jeanice, brother, Len, sister Betty, and granddaughter Ruth, in eternal rest.  He is survived by his wife Hannah; daughters Leah Bourne (Ryan), Cary Radcliff (John), Anna Hodges (Bobby), Melanie Chandler (Seth); grandchildren Mehala, Derbin, Zoe, Phoebe; sister Mary Gene Simmons (Steve); and six nieces and nephews. 

Bill was a deacon and elder of Yorkminster Presbyterian Church where he was instrumental in helping his church acquire the land and the building of Covenant Hall.   Bill was a U of R alumnus, a founding member of Poquoson Yacht Club, and a formerly active member of DU.  He was an avid fisherman, duck hunter, and event planner for his family.  He was most proud of his four amazing daughters and earning a commercial captain’s license.  His working years were in real estate and development in Poquoson, Hampton, and York County, including Edgewood, Old Port Cove, and others. 

A memorial service will be held at Yorkminster Presbyterian Church on June 28, 2016 at 10:00 a.m., followed by a 3:00 p.m. graveside service at Parksley Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to your local Red Cross Chapter or www.MDS-Foundation.org.
