Life Legacy

Mr. James Latimer "Jimmy" Wallace, Sr., 78, husband of Jean Elizabeth Wallace and a lifelong resident of Wachapreague, VA, passed away at the residence of his son in Belle Haven, VA on Thursday, October 16, 2008.

Born on February 13, 1930, he was the son of the late Stanley Crofton Wallace and Ruth Parker Wallace. He was a retired charter boat Captain and waterman. Jimmy was a member of Oceanview United Methodist Church, the Exmore Moose Lodge #683, Ducks Unlimited and the National Wildlife Federation.

Other than his wife, survivors include three sons, James L. Wallace, Jr. and wife Betsy of Belle Haven, Kurt Allan Wallace and wife Terry of Clover, SC, and Mark Wayne Wallace, Sr. of Wachapreague; two sisters, Brenda W. Thompson and Ruth W. Fischetti, both of New Castle, DE; six grandchildren, Jenifer Ward, and Kaitlyn, Eric, Mark, Jr., Christopher and Jason Wallace; two great-grandchildren, Bryce and Ava Ward; and many nieces and nephews. Other than his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Stanley C. Wallace, Jr.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Oceanview United Methodist Church on Sunday, October 19, 2008 at 3:00 PM. Interment will follow in the Wachapreague Cemetery. There will be a visitation at the church one hour prior to the service.
