Life Legacy


Mrs. Annabelle Parks Sherwood, 68, wife of Sidney Paige Sherwood and resident of Parksley, VA, passed away on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital in Nassawadox, VA.

Born February 8, 1944 in Tangier, VA, she was a daughter of the late Winford Lee Parks and Annie Susan Parks. Annabelle worked in housekeeping at the Hermitage on the Eastern Shore in Onancock, VA; was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Hunting Creek, VA and attended Drummondtown Baptist Church in Accomac, VA. She loved flowers and especially enjoyed working in her yard.

In addition to her husband, survivors include a son, Kevin Lee Sherwood and his wife Lynn of Accomac; a sister, Sarah Parks Buell of Hunting Creek; and two grandchildren, Michael and Allison Sherwood. Other than her parents, she was predeceased by three brothers, Bobby, Andrew Ray “Coconut”, and Gladstone Parks.

Funeral services will be conducted from the graveside at the Parksley Cemetery on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at 11:00 AM with the Reverend Will Baker officiating. There will be a visitation at the Williams-Parksley Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 8, 2012, from 6:00 until 7:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Drummondtown Baptist Church, P.O. Box 282, Accomac, VA 23301.
