Ms. Bertha Ann Evans, 81, former resident of Hallwood, VA and Salisbury, MD, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 28, 2018 at the Harrison House of Snow Hill, MD.
Born November 28, 1936 in Nassawadox, VA and reared in Southside Chesconessex, VA, she was a daughter of the late Coley L. Evans and Ruth Parrott Evans. Bertha retired from Dresser Wayne Industries, in 1999. She read her bible daily, enjoyed crossword puzzles and word games, and played the piano, accordion, and guitar. Bertha loved going out to dinner and looked forward to entertaining family and friends, always making a point to stay in touch with loved ones.
Survivors include her daughter, Diane C. Bradford and husband Richard of Snow Hill; son, Michael W. Collins and wife Kim of Oak Hall, VA; granddaughter, Stacey L. Collins of Oak Hall; grandson, Michael W. Collins, Jr. of Chincoteague Island, VA; four nieces; and two nephews. In addition to her parents and former spouse, Wade Collins, she was predeceased by three sisters, Edith Taylor, Vesta Mills, and Bernice Dobson; and a brother, William Evans.
Funeral services will be conducted from the graveside at the Fairview Lawn Cemetery, in Onancock, VA, on Friday, June 1, 2018 at 2:00 p.m., with The Reverend Robert Fletcher officiating.
