Mr. Robert Parsons “Bobby” Northam, 95, husband of the late Thelma Watson Northam and a resident of Parksley, VA, walked graciously into the arms of the Lord on Wednesday, July 12, 2017.

Born December 12, 1921 in Parksley, VA, he was a son of the late John Lewis Northam and Emily Parsons Northam.  Following graduation from Temperanceville High School, Bobby joined the United States Army Air Corps, proudly served his country during World War II.  Once the war had ended, he returned to Parksley and began working for ANEC as a lineman.  In 1987, Bobby retired as manager of member services after forty-four years with the co-op.  He was a longtime member of the Central Masonic Lodge No. 300 A.F. & A.M., and a devoted member of Grace United Methodist Church, having joined the membership in April of 1935.  Bobby was known for his unwavering kindness, always lending a helping hand, and spreading cheer everywhere he went.

Survivors include his loving daughter, Diane Carole Northam Bundick Melson and husband Edward; grandson, Garrick Northam Bundick and wife Sonya; great-grandson, Brent Willis Bundick and wife Logan; great-granddaughter, Blakelyn Diana Bundick; two nephews, Larry Custis and wife Cindy, and Wayne Custis and wife Rosa Caine; and niece, Emily Custis Jones.  In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Ruth Northam Custis; brother, John Lewis Northam, Jr.; grandson, Wayne Thomas Bundick II; nephew, Don Custis; and his beloved dog, “Trouble”.

Funeral services with Masonic Rites will be held at Grace United Methodist Church on Sunday, July 16, 2017 at 2:00 p.m., with The Reverends Alan Layman and Jack Pruitt officiating.  Interment with military honors will follow in the Liberty Cemetery.  There will be a visitation at the church one hour prior to the service.
