Caleb Lee CooperJune 17, 1996 ~ September 3, 2017 (age 21)
Caleb Lee Cooper, 21, resident of Tangier Island, VA, passed away Sunday, September 3, 2017 in Crisfield, MD.
Born June 17, 1996 in Nassawadox, VA, he was the son of Janet Leigh Cooper of Tangier and the late Jackie Norris Cooper. Caleb was a bright, handsome young man who had his whole life ahead of him. Sadly, no one was there for him during his greatest time of need and his precious life was cut short. He was a waterman; a member of Swain Memorial United Methodist Church, loved watching football, especially when the Miami Dolphins were playing; was a skilled chess player; and was well known for his awesome hair. Caleb was a loving and caring son and brother, always making time to talk to his mother and sister. His presence in their lives will be forever missed and they will cherish his memory until they meet again.
In addition to his mother, Caleb is survived by his sister, Melinda Leigh Cooper of Parkville, MD, who is expecting his first niece; grandmother, Edna Cooper; three aunts, Delores Daley, Faith Charnock, and Ruby Louise Nicholson; and four uncles, John Charnock, Mickey Daley, Garnett Lee Wilson, and Roy Lane Wilson.
Funeral services will be conducted from the Swain Memorial United Methodist Church on Friday, September 8, 2017 at 2:00 p.m., with The Reverend John Flood officiating. There will be a visitation at the church on Thursday, September 7, 2017 from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to the Tangier Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 239, Tangier, VA 23440.
