Christopher Michael Parks, 32, lifelong resident of Parksley, VA, and beloved son of Nancy Jean Rude Parks and the late Gregory Paul Parks, passed away on Saturday, March 24, 2018, at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital. He is at last reunited with his Dad, running around and playing, catching up on many activities he was physically unable to do on earth.
Christopher was born July 23, 1985 in Nassawadox, VA, and one of his greatest accomplishments was receiving his high school diploma in 2005. He was a member of the Cub Scouts, played T-Ball in the Challenger Division of Little League, and was a support member of the Parksley Volunteer Fire Company.
Many things brought joy and entertainment to Christopher. Topping that list was ‘the ladies’, exerting his flirtatious ways with them, thus treasuring his visits to Hooters restaurants. He delighted in ‘people watching’, observing any construction in progress, both the workers and the equipment being used, and firetrucks. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, music, watching DIY shows on TV with his mother, casinos and gambling, concerts, and the circus. Christopher was definitely not one to stay around home. He enjoyed many outings and traveling, visiting the C.F. Martin Guitar Company in Pennsylvania for a tour, on one of his last trips. Following his father’s death, his mother Nancy continued the unwavering and devoted care and love for Christopher, they both provided throughout his life. Her love continued, being there for his last breath on earth, as he made his final journey, and to await one day, running into her arms.
In addition to his mother, and her boyfriend David Bradshaw, who also gave much care and assistance to Christopher, survivors include: three uncles, Barry Parks of Leemont, VA, Roger Rude, Jr. and wife Pam, of Michigan, and Robert Rude of Parksley; aunt Julie Mulzer and husband Adolph, of Michigan; cousins, Ben Parks (wife Susan, son Nathan) of Bristol, VA, Emma Rude of Parksley; Christina Mulzer (son Arlan), Andrea Mulzer, Audi Mulzer (wife Rachel) of Michigan;T.J. Yepez of Washington state, and Ryan Yepez of Florida; and his ‘killer dog’ Katie. In addition to his father, Christopher was predeceased by two aunts, Janet Yepez and Nancy Carroll Parks; and a cousin, Cliff Parks.
A Celebration of Christopher’s Life, will be held at the Parksley Volunteer Fire Company on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at 4:00 p.m.
