Colton Thomas Parks, age 5, of Wallops Island, VA, went to be with the angels and explore the universe on Saturday, October 26, 2019. Born October 19, 2014 in Nassawadox, VA, he was the son of Steven Michael Parks and Crystal Lee Kellenberger of Wallops Island.
Colton loved the movie Toy Story and favored the character, “Woody,” and he especially loved anything with wheels – from firetrucks to monster trucks to matchbox cars. He attended preschool at Agape Christian Children’s Community Center, where he had many friends and was adored by his teachers. Always eager to help others, Colton was the first to volunteer during clean-up time or help one of his friends in class. He loved the Lord and looked forward to Sunday service with his family at Grace United Methodist Church. With his heart of gold, sweet smile, and joyful spirit, Colton was the center of his family’s world.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his paternal grandparents, Tim and Sharon “Boo Boo;” maternal grandparents, Sharon and Bill; god brother and sister, Kai and Amerikiss; and his dog and best bud, “Achilles,” who slept by his side every night. He was predeceased by his maternal great-grandmother, Joyce Hancock.
Funeral services will be held at Grace United Methodist Church on Sunday, November 3, 2019 at 2:00 p.m., with visitation one hour prior. Private interment will be held in the Parksley Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests those who attend bring a toy to the service so they may personally share with his friends and classmates in Colton’s memory.
