Mrs. Emma Ethel Ward Moscatello, 92, wife of the late Charles L. Moscatello, Sr. and a resident of Onancock, VA, formerly of Sayre, PA, passed away on Friday, July 6, 2018, at the Hermitage on the Eastern Shore in Onancock.
Born April 7, 1926 in Shamokin, PA, she was a daughter of the late Burnice Rudolph Ward, Sr. and Honorata “Hazel” Raezkowski Ward. Mrs. Moscatello graduated from Cape Charles High School, and was a longtime member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Onley, VA. As the mother of eleven children, the all-encompassing tasks relating to that responsibility, were done with great love and care throughout her life. Becoming a great chef, no doubt contributed greatly in her family’s journey, and carried over to making sure all who were fortunate to be in her presence, were always fed sufficiently, and never hungry or thirsty.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude and appreciation, to the kind staff at the Hermitage, who became family during her recent stay with them.
Mrs. Moscatello is survived by ten children, Michael of Texas, Donald of Florida, Patricia of South Carolina, Virginia of Florida, John of Wisconsin, Joseph and Robert of Texas; Mary of Maryland; and Stephen and Ann of Virginia; seventeen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her loving husband and parents, she was predeceased by her son, Charles; her sister, Frances Killmer; and two brothers, Capt. William Evans, and Burnice R. “Bub” Ward, Jr.
A Memorial Mass will be conducted from St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church on Friday, July 13, 2018 at 11:00 a.m., with Father Rogelio Abadano officiating. Urn interment will be held at Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery in Towanda, PA, at a later date.
