Evan Clements

Evan Clements passed away Thursday morning, September 21, 2017. He was 66 years old.

He completed Philadelphia General Hospital School of Nursing program in June of 1972, and married his wife, Mary, that August. Evan worked at National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD, and eventually moved to Wilmington Medical Center in Delaware. In 1982, he and Mary found their special house here on the Eastern Shore, and he went to work for NAM Hospital, now Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital. Evan expanded his horizons when he started working with Eastern Shore Rural Health, first as the Health Center Nurse at Wallops, then in the corporate office.

He battled cancer as a child, which resulted in him loosing his left eye. Evan had many health challenges during his lifetime, including a terrifying auto accident resulting in the loss of his left leg, and a brain stem stroke 10 years ago, that left him paralyzed on his right side. Through all of this, Evan remained positive, and always made the best of his life.

Evan had a curiosity for almost everything. He particularly loved photography, writing, woodworking, fixing up his house, computers, and his puppies.

He is survived by his mother, Marie McNamee and her husband, Al, of Delaware; his much-loved sister, Karen Herndon, of Adrian, MI; and his beloved wife, Mary.

He is finally whole once more.

According to his wishes, no public services will be held, but please remember Evan in your own special way.
