James Edward Bowen

Mr. James Edward Bowen, 42, husband of Dani Phillips Bowen and a resident of Parksley, VA, passed away on Monday, June 5, 2017 at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital in Onancock, VA.

Born August 2, 1974 in Salisbury, MD, he was the son of Wanda and Larry Thomas of Bloxom, VA and Louis Wesley Bowen of Exmore, VA.  In addition to his loving wife and parents, he is survived by his daughter, Joanne Phillips Carman and her husband Josh; parents-in-law, George and Judy Phillips, all of Onancock; two half-sisters, Angela and Penny Bowen; and two half-brothers, David and Steven Bowen.

James had a lifelong passion for auto mechanics and was most recently employed at Perdue Farms, Inc.  He enjoyed playing video games, and especially looked forward to fishing with his father-in-law, George.  With his quirky sense of humor and larger than life personality, James was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed. 

Funeral services will be conducted from the chapel of the Williams-Onancock Funeral Home on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at 11:00 a.m., with The Reverend Robert Fletcher officiating.  Interment will follow in the Fairview Lawn Cemetery.  There will be a visitation at the funeral home on Friday, June 9, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
