James Dorey

Mr. Samuel James Dorey, 55, resident of Onancock, VA, passed away Thursday, October 19, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. 

Born September 6, 1962 in Cape Charles, VA, he was a son of the late Earl Lee Haisten and Shirley Ann Brady.  Prior to retirement, James worked for BaySys as assistant maintenance supervisor and operated a lawn service business.  He loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed fishing and crabbing, however his greatest passion was country music.   

Survivors include his sons, Samuel Dorey, Jr., Dalton Orgavan, Mark Lay, Justin Wagner, Jonathan Dorey, Clayton Dorey, daughter, Kasey Dorey, who was his pride and joy; brother, Anthony Curtis Dorey; sister, Donna Michelle Lane; three aunts, Faye Fluhart, Jane Gillespie, and Alice Riddle; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. 

A memorial service will be conducted from the chapel at the Williams-Parksley Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at 2:00 p.m., with The Reverend Robert Fletcher officiating.
