Jane Lewis Hoppe

Mrs. Jane Lewis Hoppe (and the former Jane L. Thomas), 83, wife of the late Robert T. Hoppe and resident of Onancock, VA, passed away at her residence on Friday, August 25, 2017.

Born February 6, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Garland Wesley “Reddy” Lewis and Lella Drummond Lewis.  Jane graduated from Onancock High School; was a member of Hollies Baptist Church; and retired as Administrative Assistant with Custis, Lewis and Dix.  She was also a former member of the Lions Club.

Survivors include a son, Mark Lewis Thomas; a sister, Barbara Lewis Young of Richmond, VA, formerly of Morley’s Wharf, Exmore, VA; a daughter-in-law, Marsha Thomas, who was married to Steve; three grandsons, Jacob Cole Thomas, Branden David Thomas, and Kevin Lewis Thomas (Jenna Lynn); a great-granddaughter, Robin Lynn Thomas; and two nieces, Suzanna Young Hiller and Deborah Young Harless.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her two sons, Stephen Lee “Steve” Thomas and John David Thomas.

A memorial service will be conducted from the chapel of the Williams-Onancock Funeral Home on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at 2:00 p.m., with The Reverend Robert Fletcher officiating.
