Kain Michael Turner, loving son, grandson, brother, and friend to many, passed away December 3, 2018, at the age of 21. Born November 29, 1997 in Honolulu, HI, he was a son of Harold Keith “Bama” Turner and wife Kimberly of Modest Town, VA and Virginia Myers Smith and husband Travis of Cottonwood, AZ.
Kain’s focus and drive for excellence began when he found his passion for karate. By age 16, he was a black belt and was a star on his high school wrestling and soccer teams, all while maintaining his status as an honor student. Following graduation from Arcadia High School, in Oak Hall, VA, Kain pursued his dream to attend Northern Arizona University, in Flagstaff, AZ. He was a model student at NAU - loved by all, especially by his brothers of the Nu Alpha chapter of Phi Gamma Delta, where his positivity and compassion were invaluable. Kain had an infectious zest for life and was a born leader, always there to help those in need without question or complaint.
In addition to his parents and step-parents, Kain is survived by his sisters, Käyla Renea Turner of Modest Town, Allison Kristina Turner of Westbrook, ME, and Selina Isis Smith of Cottonwood; brothers, Keith Martin Turner of Reno, NV, and Dante Cadell Clements of Florida; paternal grandmother, Mary Ann Turner of Vincent, AL; maternal grandparents, Bernard Ray and Connie Lucille Myers of Cottonwood; and a niece, Rebecca Puttoff.
