Myra Jean Duer, 80, of Painter, VA, passed away at her residence on Friday, July 7, 2017.

Born November 26, 1936 in Painter, she was a daughter of the late Bagwell Duncan Drummond and Louise Sparrow Drummond Mason.  Myra Jean was a member of Painter-Garrisons United Methodist Church, where she was very active, and member of the United Methodist Women.  An avid Bridge player, she also enjoyed crossword puzzles, baseball and football, and was an overall sports enthusiast.  Myra Jean was a former Town Clerk for the Town of Painter, and had retired as a secretary with the Bessie Anderson School of Nursing.

Survivors include her three children, Karen Bagwell Duer-Potts of Richmond, VA, Francis Chase “Chuck” Duer III of Painter, and Nathan Kirk Duer and wife Sonya, of Henrico, VA; six grandchildren, Virginia Drummond Potts, Lauren Bagwell Potts, F. Chase Duer IV, Kristen Scott, Zachary Duer and Colby Duer; two great-grandchildren, Connor Scott and Cassadi Scott; and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her infant son, Douglas B. Duer; and her sister, Dianna Lou Drummond Woody.

A funeral service will be conducted from the chapel of the Williams-Onancock Funeral Home, Monday, July 10, 2017 at 12:00 noon, with The Reverend Jack D. Pruitt officiating.  A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, and interment will follow at the Belle Haven Cemetery.
