Robert Davis Fitchett

Mr. Robert Davis Fitchett, 80, husband of the late Janie Marie Fitchett and a resident of Parksley, VA, walked graciously into the arms of his beloved wife on Monday, November 19, 2018.  Born July 23, 1938 in Nassawadox, VA, and reared in Birdsnest, VA, he was a son of the late Milton Fitchett and Mary Isdell Fitchett. 

Robert retired from Tyson Foods, where he worked as a maintenance mechanic for many years.  He looked forward to days spent riding motorcycles with his family and close friends, memories that will forever be cherished by his loved ones.  Robert was a devoted husband and father who adored his family, and he happily dedicated his life to ensuring they always had what they needed. 

Survivors include his three children, Robert Davis Fitchett, Jr. of Burkeville, VA, Tammy Marie Gladding, and Lisa Anne Perry and fiancé Timothy Bowen, all of Parksley; two brothers, Tommy Fitchett of Sanford, VA, and Sonny Fitchett of Exmore, VA; sister, Barbara Johnson of Cedar View, VA; granddaughter, Kaitlyn Nicole Perry of Parksley; two great-grandsons, Carson and Dakota Rodriguez; and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Milton Fitchett, Jr. and a sister, Isabelle Smith.

Funeral services will be conducted from the chapel of the Williams-Parksley Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at 11:00 a.m., with The Reverend G. Wayne Parsley officiating.  Interment will follow in the Liberty Cemetery.  There will be a visitation at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
