The Reverend Roger William Bisson, 73, beloved husband of Victoria Crockett “Vicky” Bisson and a resident of Onancock, VA, formerly of Chesapeake, VA, walked graciously into the arms of his Lord and Savior on Thursday, November 1, 2018.
Born June 15, 1945 in Hartford, CT, he was the son of the late William Joseph Bisson and Pearl Langlois Bisson. Roger proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1968 with the rank of Airman First Class. After graduating from college and spending many years in the general workforce, Roger found his true calling in ministry. He became ordained and spent the remainder of his life serving the Lord in many capacities. Roger was the founding pastor of Grace Fellowship Church, in Chesapeake, was involved in numerous ministerial organizations, and especially enjoyed sharing his love for praise and worship through his various musical talents.
In addition to his loving wife of 50 years, he is survived by two sisters, Lorraine Ryalls and husband Richard of Frisco, TX, and Janet Dalenta and husband Richard of South Windsor, CT; sister-in-law, Jessie Robbins and husband Timothy of Melfa, VA; a niece; and four nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted from the chapel of the Williams-Onancock Funeral Home on Sunday, November 4, 2018 at 2:00 p.m., with Dr. Roger Frampton and The Reverend Wayne Doss officiating. Interment will follow in the Fairview Lawn Cemetery, with The Reverend Albert Crockett officiating. There will be a visitation at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
