Sue Ellen Prince Metzler, 66, beloved wife of Grey M. Metzler and a resident of Exmore, VA, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 28, 2017, surrounded by her loving family and friends.  As those here on earth mourn her loss, we rejoice in her being reunited with her son, brother, and parents.

Born July 7, 1951 in Washington Township, NJ, Sue was the daughter of the late William Henry Prince and Dorothy Trumble Prince.  She was a longtime beautician, and retired from the medical billing department at the Bayview Medical Center.

Sue enjoyed life, and all who were ever in her company, could see this.  Her love of family, and their love of her, will forever be admired and treasured in many hearts.  She was supportive of the Northampton County Public Schools, having founded PASS at the high school, assisted with founding Friends of NCPS, and was active in the Wrestling Booster Club.

In addition to her loving husband, survivors include two sons, William E. “Will” Leland and his wife Trinity, of Cape Charles, VA, and Matthew Nelson “Matt” Metzler of Virginia Beach, VA; her five grandchildren, Cody Fletcher Long, Zachary Christopher White, Mary Blake Leland, Taylor Rebecca Leland, and Brock Christopher Leland; a brother, James Finley “Jim” Prince and his wife Jacqui, of Kill Devil Hills, NC; and five nieces and nephews, Jenny Prince Tomlinson, Rebecca Prince Meyers, William Allen Prince, Meredith Prince Harris, and Caitlin Prince Antinori.  In addition to her parents, Sue was predeceased by a son, Bryan Christopher Leland; and brother, William Henry “Bill” Prince, Jr.

A graveside service to celebrate Sue’s life, will be held at the Franktown Cemetery on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at 2:00 p.m., with The Reverend Jeff Conrow officiating.
